Jeju Island - 4D3N Itinerary for Self-Drive

Hamdeok Beach
This was my second time at Jeju but my friends' first. Strictly speaking, we had 2.5 days to tour this scenic and laidback island. Being able to drive ourselves around means we could move around
at own pace and eating whatever we come across or local fave.

Rough guide of the routes travelled. (Map adapted from Google Map) Some of the "pitstops" were indicated by the yellow dots.
Itinerary

Day 1:
Arrive at Incheon Airport in the morning ---> Take train to Gimpo Airport for domestic flight to Jeju Island ---> Pick Up Rental Car ---> Hamdeok Beach where we chilled at the Cafe Delmoondo ---> Late lunch at Myeongjin Jeonbok 명진전복 ---> Seongsan (Sunrise) Ilchulbong Peak 성산 일출봉 ---> Dinner at Crab Bee ---> Overnight at Ocean Palace Hotel

Cafe Delmoodo. Attracted to this place by the many Insta-worthy pics on social media sites.

Lunch at Myeongjin Jeonbok. Clockwise from top right: Grilled abalone, abalone porridge, grilled fish (one of the complimentary side dishes), hotstone abalone rice & exterior of the eatery. Though it was the shop supposed to having a break time when we reached, it had kindly took us in. Otherwise, we might have moved on and not eat that (due to our hunger). At the end of our meal, we were happily stuffed.

At the summit of Sunrise Peak for the sun set.

The many steps we conquered and exhausted our lunch.
Dinner at Crab Bee. These king crab dishes were yummy. L-R: spicy and grilled butter flavour, respectively. (Note: Read online that this might have closed permanently)
Day 2:
O’Sulloc Tea Museum오설록티뮤지엄 ---> Teddy Bear Museum ---> Black Pork BBQ dinner at a random shop ---> Overnight at Ocean Palace Hotel

Clockwise from top left: Soft serve & Green Tea roll cake at O'sulloc Tea Museum and meal at the cafe at Innisfree Jeju House which was next door.

Few of the myraid showcases at Teddy Bear Museum's.

Day 3:
Cheonjiyeon Waterfall ---> Jeongbang Waterfall ---> Camellia Hill 카멜리아힐  ---> Monsant Cafe ---> Supermarket Shopping ---> Dinner Kyochon Fried Chicken ---> Overnight at Best Western Hotel.

Waterfalls: Cheonjiyeon (top) & Jeongbang (bottom)
Camellia Hill. It wasn't camellia flowering season. Nonetheless, it was a nice stroll in the park.
Monsant Cafe was at situated at a secluded part of Aewol region. But, it wasn't in seclusion as K-pop fans would flock here to support their idol, G-Dragon, who was rumoured to be the owner. K-Pop matters aside, the food and drinks made the trip worth it. Top to bottom: Ice coffee, Hallabong juice, carrot cake and pizza with sweet potato (and probably something else which I didn't remember).
Day 4:
Morning flight to Seoul which concluded our Jeju trip.

Flights

There wasn't direct flight from Singapore to Jeju. Hence, we had booked domestic flights from Gimpo Airport to Jeju. There were very frequent daily flights by several airlines, including budget ones. Our choice for this trip was Korean Air as its price was competitive with the budget ones.

To get from Incheon Airport to Gimpo Airport, we had taken the AREX train. (By the way, luggages didn't get to get through from Singapore to Gimpo.)

Car Rental

There were many car rental companies to choose from. We had chosen LOTTE rent-a-car. To avoid any disappointment of not having a car of our choice, we had booked online in advance. The car rental company had offered pretty attractive online discount at the time we booked.

Do note that it's right-hand drive in South Korea. And, do check if you need to apply for the International Driving Permit (IDP) before you embark on your trip. For Singapore drivers, we had to apply for IDP at AA Singapore.

Getting around Jeju was easy with the local GPS navigator. (Note: Google Map doesn't work well in giving routes in Jeju) Key the local phone no. of the destination in the GPS navigator and the route will be configured and displayed. Our navigator had provided directional command in English.

Accommodation

We had moved in clockwise direction. Based on the distances and places we wanted to visit, we had spent two nights in Seogwipo (south) and last night in Jeju City (north).

At Seowigpo, we had stayed at Ocean Palace Hotel which was apartment style accommodation. This hotel had huge rooms and a convenience store and restaurants within the building. The eatery at next door selling some soupy one-pot dish was pretty good.

At Jeju city, we had stayed at the Best Western Hotel. It was new and offered triple bed. There was a starbucks within the hotel and two hypermarts within 10 mins walking distance.
