Tokyo: HARBS ハーブス
HARBS
The irresistible cakeshop :p
Simple, fresh & light.
Once you bite, you can't stop.
The group arrived at HARBS at Lumine Est (Shinjuku area) after a ramen dinner. They didn't know they were in for such a treat! This was very comforting after a long day walking at Mt Takao.
While in the queue, the group noticed that the cakes were sold pretty fast at the takeaway counter. And, almost to their horror, those orders from the cafe also tap of cakes from the same area. There was anxiety that they would have nothing to order by the time they were seated. The waitress probably sensed their anxiety and took order from them even before they were seated. The group just ordered 2 cakes and tea.
The Strawberry Cake was HARBS's all-time favourite. Strawberry was in season and it definitely make the cake tastes even better.

The 2nd all-time favourite was Mille Crepe which is tiered with generous servings of fruits such as strawberry, melons, kiwi, banana, etc.

The group polished the two delicious cake and ordered a third piece. The selection had shrunk some more. The White Chocolate Cake seemed most special and very appealing then. It was not too rich and nicely enhanced by some nutty bits.

Having found such a great cake shop. The group couldn't return back home without eating there for another time. This time round, chocolate became the seasonal selection. Tadah! Strawberry Chocolate Cake! It was R's favourite there.

Then, there was the Chocolate Cake with walnut bits. Sinfully delicious too.

Overall, the cakes are simply too heavenly to get sick of eating them. However, the tea is pale in comparison. This place also offers a tiny selection of salad and pasta. Come during lunch time to offer the value-for-money set meal.
