Tokyo: Quil Fait Bon キル フェ ボン

The group's mood for dessert was high even though they were rather full from the late lunch of ramen and snacks at Asakusa. They eagerly anticipated as great pastry at Quil Fait Bon as Harbs. Quil Fait Bon supposedly serves the best fruit tart in Japanese's opinion. At least, that was what R researched from its website.

This branch at Tokyo Solamachi had dine in and takeaway counter. The dine in area was rather small and it was not full when the group got there. The display also showed lotsa tarts for selection. As it was evening and the fear of tarts being sold out, like at Harbs, the group did not hesitate long to take a seat inside. R was assigned to pick the tarts which wasn't too difficult. Becoz one of the shop assistant speaks Mandarin and R focused on the seasonal best selling ones.

R had unknowingly chose the most expensive of the lot - the White Strawberry Tart. It cost a whooping 1575Yen (S$23)! How special? The cream was light and its proportion with the fruits and crust was just right. Overall, it had a simple sweet taste. As R wasn't quite a gourmet, she really couldn't decipher how different was white strawberry berry from the commonly seen type.

The 2nd tart was the Apple Tart. There was many layers of taste to it (as you could probably tell from the look of it). Unique and goes well with tea.

By the way, the tokyo skytree deco item is only available at this branch and it's for keeps.

Last but not least, it was really hospitable of them to give each of them a sample size brownie. Yumz too.
