Nara 奈良: Sakura Burger

Lingered around its corridor for quite some time to anticipate its opening

Sakura Burger was one of the dining places which was found online before the trip and in Japanese travel mag which was read on the trip.

Really looked forward to a great food after an unfruitful afternoon of wandering in the crowded Nara attractions.

When arrived at Sakura Burger shop, Ru was deflated that it was not opened for dinner yet. She was really looking forward to great food after an unfruitful afternoon in wandering in crowded Nara attractions. It just didn't occurred to her that a casual burger outlet closes in mid-afternoon. What to do then? Burger had been on my mind almost the whole day. So, set of to exploring the not-touristy neighbourhood alley.

When Ru got back about 5pm, she was surprised that it was still closed. Oh no oh no... Read the shop opening hours again to double confirm. Okay... give it more time. Paced up and down the street this time.

Yeah! It was opened! And, Ru tried to look cool by not rushing in eagerly. (No need to rush also coz no other customer besides her)

One-man show for the time being
Liked that the place was empty throughout my dinner there. It was also quite cool to see the chef (perhaps owner but definitely waiter and cashier) preoccupied in making my food. In between appropriate cooking timing, chef also stepped out of the kitchen to chat with me. Was I the 1st known Singaporean in his shop? Nevertheless, he seemed to be updating his map of worldwide customers on the wall.

Rare to get a glass bottled of coke
Didn't order its signature Sakura Burger because it contains a fat slice of pork which I didn't fancy. Had ordered a cheeseburger instead. It was delish. Very tender and tasty beef patty. N, the bun was soft, fluffy and just slightly toasted. How I wished I could eat a 2nd one....

Oh, the delish Cheeseburger. Very tender & tasty beef patty.
