Kyoto: Mo-An Cafe 茂庵
Mo-An was an intriguing cafe to visit because getting to it was sorta like an adventure. It was 'hidden' within a hill (which was close to Silver Pavillion). Hmm... Actually, getting to Mo-An ain't difficult if one followed the location map and the signages. Walked through a housing estate, looked out for a sign which would meant the beginning of a short trek uphill.
It was lunch time. Was disappointed with the lunch menu at first because there was only pita sandwich with choice of filling. Pita bread? Was looking for a more filling menu of curry rice (typical dish on Jap cafe menu). Wasn't keen on pork so chose the Hikiji seaweed and cheese with tomato. To perk things up, the dessert is carefully chosen after that.
[Note: Did a search on hikiji seaweeed and found that some countries suggested to avoid eating it because it had a content that was linked to cancer. Oops, but, it was very delicious]

Black hikiji seaweed didn't look appealing but was very tasty |
Ice cream "sundae". Vanilla ice-cream with chopped nuts, not-so-sweet caramel sauce, puff stick, cornflakes. Extremely yummy. |
